BRIA was issued ISO27001

October 18, 2017 BVQI (Thailand) issued the ISO27001 certificate to BRIA. The standard itself is to provide requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS). Thus BRIA LAb becames the first private clinical laboratory in Thailand that has obtained the the ISMS certificate.

Nifty (นิฟตี้) เป็นการตรวจกรองการตั้งครรภ์เพื่อค้นหาทารกดาวน์ซินโดรมซึ่งมีโครโมโซมคู่ที่ 21 เกินมา และเด็กทารกที่มีความผิดปกติของโครโมโซมคู่ที่13 และ 18 ความก้าวหน้าของเทคโนโลยีในปัจจุบัน ทำให้สามารถตรวจหาเศษชิ้นดีเอ็นเอของทารกที่มาปะปนอยู่ในเลือดแม่ได้ มารดาที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 35 ปีขึ้นไปแพทย์แนะนำให้ตรวจการตั้งครรภ์ทารกดาวน์ซินโดรม

ขั้นตอนในการตรวจ Nifty สามารถทำได้โดยการเจาะเลือดของมารดาที่ตั้งครรภ์ตั้งแต่ 12 สัปดาห์ขึ้นไป เพื่อนำน้ำเลือดมาเพิ่มจำนวนชิ้นดีเอ็นเอให้มากพอที่จะอ่านได้ และเชื่อมต่อข้อมูลที่อ่านได้จัดเรียงเป็นโครโมโซมทั้ง 21 แท่งของมนุษย์ การวิเคราะห์โครโมโซมอาศัยข้อมูลทางชีวสารสนเทศเปรียบเทียบกับฐานข้อมูลขนาดใหญ่ ก่อนที่จะสรุปเป็นสาระสำคัญสำหรับโครโมโซมที่สนใจมากเป็นพิเศษ 5 คู่ เพื่อค้นหาความผิดปกติชนิดไตรโซมี 13, 18 และ 21

ทำไมต้องเจาะจงเลือก Nifty
1) การศึกษาที่คณะแพทยศาสตร์ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ พบว่ามีความไวเพื่อใช้ในการตรวจกรองสูงกว่าร้อยละ 99 เทียบเท่าผลการศึกษาของต่างประเทศ แสดงว่าการตรวจ Nifty มีความไวอยู่ในเกณฑ์มาตรฐาน และยังสะท้อนถึงมาตรฐานห้องปฏิบัติการของเบรียแล็บเทียบเท่ากับต่างประเทศ
2) นอกจากจะค้นหาความผิดปกติของทารกจาก T13, T18 และ T21 แล้ว การตรวจวิเคราะห์โครโมโซมทั้ง 21 คู่ ยังสามารถบอกลักษณะขาดและเกินของโครโมโซมคู่อื่นๆ บอกเพศของทารก รวมถึงลักษณะโครโมโซมด่าง (mosaic) ดังนั้น ในกรณีของการผสมเทียม สามารถเลือกฝากตัวอ่อนที่ดีที่สุดได้
3) Nifty ใช้ฐานข้อมูลของชาวเอเชีย ซึ่งมีมากกว่า 1 ล้านราย ในจำนวนนี้เป็นฐานข้อมูลของคนไทยกว่า 1หมื่นราย ซึ่งสูงกว่าการทดสอบในลักษณะเดียวกันของผลิตภัณฑ์ในชื่ออื่น ความน่าเชื่อถืออยู่ที่จำนวนฐานข้อมูลและฐานข้อมูลที่เป็นของคนไทย ในขณะที่การทดสอบในลักษณะเดียวกันของผลิตภัณฑ์ในชื่ออื่นมีฐานข้อมูลของคนไทยน้อยกว่ามาก
4) ในต่างประเทศแนะนำให้ใช้ การตรวจ NIPT เป็นการตรวจกรองการตั้งครรภ์กับมารดาทุกวัย ไม่จำกัดเฉพาะที่อายุสูงกว่า 35 ปี ในขณะที่ผู้มีชื่อเสียงในวงสังคม ดารานักแสดงจำนวนมาก ต่างเจาะจงเลือก Nifty ในการตรวจกรองดาวน์ซินโดรมด้วยเหตุผลต่างๆข้างต้น

BRIA LAB was verified by the Westgard QC, Inc. for Sigma-Metric Performance in her quality control procedure within laboratory. The certificate ceremony was held at the Plaza Athenee hotel in Bangkok on December 15, 2016. Sigma-Metric is a powerful tool as a quality indicator for use in quality management planning particularly in quantitative assays. It seeks to improve the assay quality by identifying biased and/or imprecise assays. The Westgard QC, Inc. is a consulting company who expert in the field of clinical laboratory science, quality management and software engineering.
